  • TL's first head leads new school to success

    A headteacher’s success at a new alternative provision free school in Leeds has received national recognition. Elland Academy was established a year ago to re-engage challenging and vulnerable students in the city and surrounding area. Its leader, Alice Ngondi, in her first headship, has been singled out for praise by Teaching Leaders for the positive impact she’s made on the students and the community.

    Students from Year 6 at Park View Primary Academy in Leeds, presented a thought provoking assembly about anti-bullying. They created their very own video on anti-bullying.   • Year 5/6 Primary Athletics Competition

    20th January 2015

    As part of the overall development of school sport across the trust we are proud to announce the first Schools Partnership Trust Primary Sportshall Athletics Competition.

    This will take place on Thursday 26th March at the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield. Teams should arrive no later than 12:00pm to register ready for a 12:30pm start. The event should finish around 3:00pm each school can enter 1 team in total. A team is made up of 20 children (10 boys and 10 girls).

  • Ex-Garforth pupil wins Silver at Commonwealth

    11th August 2014

    Former Garforth Academy Student James Denny has won a Silver Medal at the Commonwealth Games in the Men’s 10m Synchronised Diving. James who partnered Tom Daley, left Year 13 at Garforth Academy in 2013, after successfully completing his BTEC Sport studies. He now combines diving with the City of Leeds Diving Club with alongside studying Sports, Physical Activity and Health at Leeds Metropolitan University.

  • Sixth Form students visit Microscope facility

    28th January 2014

    Sixth form students from De Warenne Academy and Rossington All Saints Academy went on a joint visit to the University of Sheffield Department of Biomedical Science electron microscope facility. The students, who are studying Level 3 Applied Science BTEC, enjoyed a guided tour of the laboratories and found out how the microscopes can be used to magnify specimens over 150,000 times.

  • De Warenne Sixth-Formers awarded

    28th January 2014

    Hardworking sixth-form students from De Warenne Academy were awarded graduation certificates by the Mayor of Leeds at a ceremony at Leeds Metropolitan University. The certificates were awarded to students who successfully completed the 'Progression Module' which guides and prepares students for university applications.

    Three aspiring students from Rossington All Saints Academy; Josh Bathgate, Lauren Caldwell and Jonathan McPhail and past student Laura Pearman, all interviewed for positions as casual coaches with Active Fusion.  All 4 have been offered the positions after demonstrating their abilities in teaching lessons to both year 7 and 8 students.

  • Young Voices at Sheffield Arena

    6th February 2013

    A group of De Warenne students went to Sheffield Arena to sing in the Young Voices Choir on 23rd January. The singers had rehearsed a variety of songs and the actions to go with them. They were lucky enough to be right on the front row and got their T-shirts signed by the stars of the show including internationally renowned musician Randolph Matthews. They also spoke to the creative director who commented how pleased he was to see secondary school students enjoying singing together so much. He agreed with t

    Green Lane Primary Academy is one of only 100 schools in England to be granted teaching school status – a new designation entitling it to lead the training and professional development for staff.
